Started by the people who used to be audited

PeoplePro Consulting was started by safety, HR and compliance people who spent years inside Malaysian companies — the ones who stood in front of the JKKP officer, sat through the customer audit, and still had a department to run on Monday morning.

We had all watched the same thing happen. A consultant delivers a thick file, everybody signs, the certificate goes up on the wall, and nothing on the floor actually changes. So we built the firm the other way round: put right what happens on the ground first, and let the paperwork describe something that is true.

The rules have since caught up with that view. Since June 2024 the Occupational Safety and Health Act reaches almost every workplace in Malaysia, not only factories and construction sites, and an employer with five or more staff must name someone to coordinate safety and health. Since June 2025, organisations holding personal data on more than 20,000 people — or sensitive data on more than 10,000 — must appoint a data protection officer and register the appointment. Owner-led companies are now asked for the same evidence as a multinational, without the head office to produce it.

That is where we work. Most of our clients are owner-led and family-run businesses around the Klang Valley, Penang and Johor — logistics, healthcare, professional services and light manufacturing, usually between 20 and 500 staff. We come to the site, work in English or Bahasa Malaysia, and leave your own people able to carry it after we go.
